Fooled ya!

Hello everyone! I have a couple of new updates. So remember how I went on and on about how excited I was to go to Twin Falls and start their nursing program? Well I got my nursing packet in the mail this last week, and I found out that they were gonna make me move at the same pace as everyone else in my class. Since I already have a bachelor's degree, all my general education is finished and what I need to get my RN is the nursing core...So it was my understanding that I could just do the nursing core and be done in one year. According to the nursing packet, we all have to stay together as a class though, so I wouldn't graduate until May 2014! Personally, I don't really feel like starting my education all over again and going back to school for two years to get another Associate's degree. Why waste my time when I could get my Master's degree in two years or another Bachelor's in one? It suddenly just didn't make any sense for me to go there anymore. Not to mention that if I went to school in Twin Falls that Kurt and I would have to be apart for 6 months... not cool. And it would be a huge sacrifice for him to go there with me for two years because it would be putting his education on hold. For all of these reasons, I have decided to give up my seat in Twin Falls. It's crazy I know. This has been my plan for over a year now and I'm changing it without a blink. My new plan is to apply to an accelerated Bachelor's program this fall to start in January. They only are a year and I'll get my BSN at the end of it. I'm not sure where I will get in or how easy it will be for me to get in somewhere, but I just have this feeling that everything will work out alright and I'll be able to go somewhere. It's added stress to try to get my applications in before the end of summer, but I'll find a way to manage. I just need to remember to keep breathing.

Two weeks ago I had the great privilege to see one of my oldest friends get married. Todd and I have known each other since we were born and it was great to get to see him with a girl that he really loves. They are perfect for each other!

This was also a special weekend because I got to spend some time with my mom and my sister (Margi). My mom came to Utah from California for the wedding and to help me with some wedding plans of my own. Since Margi lives in Salt Lake, we got to spend some time with her and Todd's mom (Stacey). Kurt came along with me and we had a great time in Utah.

Mom was really excited about the wedding!

He is such a handsome man. I'm actually feeling a little weak in the knees looking at this picture.

Once the wedding was over, we spent one more night in Utah and then headed to Rexburg. My mom came with Kurt and I to do some wedding planning. She also wanted to meet Kurt's family. We got to show her the Atrium and who will be doing our flowers and photography. It was awesome to get to show her what we've been working on for the last few months. We spent a lot of the afternoon with Kurt's mom (who she loves) and got a pattern and fabric to make the bridesmaids dresses. I have to admit I'm getting really excited. We wrapped up the evening by having a barbeque at Kurt's house. My mom got to meet the whole Peters family. JoAnn (Kurt's mom) surprised all the sons by giving them a belated Christmas present... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles beanies! They are pretty awesome.

(This picture is the best. I'm gonna have great brothers-in-law!)

This last bit of information is not that interesting. I just feel like sharing it. SoOoOoOo the other day I was in Maurice's getting wedding shoes and I decided to look at the sale rack just for fun. Well they had this dress that was like 70% and really cute. They didn't have one in my size, but they did have a size 3. Now I have not fit into a size 3 since like before puberty, but I knew I had lost a few pounds recently and was curious. I tried it on. I thought I was gonna have issues getting it zipped up, but I didn't. It fit like a glove! I was so shocked and excited that I decided I had to buy it to remember this victory. I had no intention of buying a dress that day but it ended up only being $15, so I rationalized it was ok. I'm sorry, Kurt, that you are marrying a princess, but I will work on repenting of that.

I am getting stressed out about all the expenses I have and planning I need to do over the next three months (wedding, honeymoon, school), but for right here and now, I am celebrating my new size 3 dress size! Woo hoo!  :-)
